Casey Frensz is a one-man Musical powerhouse with a passion for bringing any instrument he can find to life, and helping others to do the same. Inner Groove Studios is Casey’s brainchild, and the result of many years spent gathering funds, equipment, and knowledge.

Casey graduated with a B.A. in Music Education from Lawrence University and has served the Twin Cities as Music Director at Upper Mississippi Academy and Patrick Henry High School. Casey loves helping other Musicians reach their creative and technical goals and finding personal fulfillment through Music. Casey has guided many a student to their first jam or performance, their college or university of choice, or the creation of personally meaningful material.

He has amassed a prolific recording catalogue, including four solo releases in which he wrote, performed, and mixed every note. Casey learned his craft through the creation of his own records, starting with an usb headset mic and audacity back in 2005, then began helping his students and friends with their creative projects. He started taking on professional work as an engineer and producer in 2020.

Casey is a passionate collector of instruments and equipment, and his studio grows each year. He has a love for worldly and mystifying sounds- a sitar or gong is just as at home in his Music as electric guitars and drums. As a producer, Casey loves to discover unconventional instrument groupings and create rich orchestrations by layering natural acoustic sounds.

Casey is an active performer in the Twin Cities Music scene, and can regularly be found playing saxophone, bass, guitar, and drums with local bands. He plays with the Brother Jon Band as well as his own Frensz Family Band and is a frequent guest with countless other local artists.
